Our outreach team loaded 2 large vans with food, clothing and generators and headed eastward towards the Donetsk region of Ukraine, the epicenter of the war. We had to change the plans of our destination because the city was being bombarded. So, this change brought us to the city of Izium, a city known for horrible atrocities by the invading Russian soldiers. Our change in plans was divine providence. After the devastating bombardment of the city, authorities found mass graves along with many other unmentionable atrocities by occupying soldiers. Izium is a city of horrors. We stood amazed as the worst of human tragedy collided with the love and grace of Jesus Christ…God’s love won! Many turned to Christ as supplies were given out and the gospel was preached in four separate locations in the city! Instant transformation was witnessed as people confessed sin and invited Jesus to be their Savior and Lord by the overflowing joy and radiant faces that had been captive to the horrible phycological memories and burdens since the invasion. Today was different because Jesus came to town! Salvation and freedom came to Izium as the team ministered in the love of Christ. All we can only say is, “Look what the Lord has done!” (Google Izium) Thank you for your prayers and support that is resulting in transformed lives along the frontlines of war. We believe 75-95 people came to Christ in this outreach. - Doug and Angie Blessing Children who a orphaned by the war...We had the honor to serve children who now have no father or mother. They are from the Mariupol region, a city that is no more. They were extracted from the eastern war zone and brought west for their safety.
